
President and Chief Designer
Ken Smyth has over 35 years of aerospace experience including 28 years in the
air force in increasingly responsible aerospace engineering positions followed
by over three years in Orenda Recip in charge of engine installation design,
development, testing and certification. He is a P.Eng. and has an MBA.
Senior Engineer / Designer
Adem Turkdogan has a PhD in aeronautical engineering. His experience includes
over 20 years in the air force where he specialized in Depot Level aircraft
maintenance activities and the development of aircraft structural integrity
programs. This was followed by work with Turkish Engine Industries, General
Electric and Orenda Recip in turbine and reciprocating engine design and
testing.
Manufacturing Manager
Paul Garner has a degree in mechanical engineering and extensive manufacturing
management and QA experience gained from working with Rolls Royce, Orenda
Aerospace Corporation and Orenda Recip. He was production manager of the Orenda
Recip manufacturing facility in Debert before joining Phoenix Aero.
Structural Engineer and CAD
Modeler
Chris Baczynski is an aeronautical engineer with strong experience in aircraft
structural modification and repair design. He is particularly adept at modeling;
both finite element modeling and CAD design.
Electrical and Instrument
Systems Engineer
Ken Lawday has a Master’s Degree in electrical engineering and a long history of
engine and systems installation design, most recently with Pratt & Whitney
Canada and Orenda Recip.
Aeronautical Engineer
Ryan Hader is an
Aerospace Engineering graduate from
Ryerson
University.
He is employed in our
Stoney Creek office primarily on rotorcraft mechanical design tasks. Ryan's
thesis work was on 'Design of Continuous Flow Engines' and designed and built a
complete working Rocket engine with test stand.
Electrical Engineer
James Edward is also a graduate of Aerospace
Engineering from Ryerson
University. He is employed in our
Stoney Creek office primarily on rotorcraft electrical and instrument
systems design tasks.
James completed his thesis work on glider stabilization.
Designer / Drafter
Tau Do has extensive experience in the development and completion of engineering
drawings and 3D modeling. He is highly proficient in design tools such as
AutoCAD, ProEngineer, SolidWorks and CATIA.

Service Manager
Sebastien Arsenault is a licensed AME and very experienced with all facets of
multiple aircraft and engine maintenance, installation, manufacturing and
training.

Project Manager
Mike Smith has 35 years of experience in the air force as an aeroengine and
aviation technician. Upon his retirement, he joined Orenda with whom he spent
three years managing various engine installation projects.
Information Technology
Manager / Project Manager
Lilli Chevrier is a
certified PMP
with over
two decades of experience in the IT and project management/program management
fields including positions with the Government of Alberta and Government of
Canada.
Aeronautical Engineering Student
Jon Francki is an Aerospace Engineering student at
Ryerson who is in his last term of studies. His specialty is computer
modeling and he is primarily employed in mechanical design and manufacturing
engineering.
